The live data shown here is the consumption from our Gatwick ECO Cloud, the server cluster is identical in size and specification to the previous measurements
We measure Power (W) across a cluster of servers every 15 mins and display the“MEAN” power consumed for all servers in the cluster in the past 24 hours.
We measure the usage in terms of the CPU GHz Usage, displaying the“MEAN” CPU Usage of all Virtual machines in the cluster.
Finally, we are calculating the “MEAN” Power consumption per GHz CPU used, based on the total GHz Used.
Traditional Air Based Cooling
The live data shown here is the consumption from our London traditional air-cooled Cloud.
We measure Power (W) across a cluster of servers every 15 mins and display the“MEAN” power consumed for all servers in the cluster in the past 24 hours.
We measure the usage in terms of the CPU GHz Usage, displaying the“MEAN” CPU Usage of all Virtual machines in the cluster.
Finally, we are calculating the “MEAN” Power consumption per GHz CPU used, based on the total GHz Used.
Comparing the two data sets we can establish the effective 12 months’ impact on Carbon savings and therefore the impact the Eco-Cloud has on your business’s Scope 3 environmental impact.
Environmental Impact
Environmental impact / Greenhouse gas emissions are categorised into three groups or ‘Scopes’.
Scope 1 – covers direct emissions from owned or controlled sources.
Scope 2 – covers indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, steam, heating and cooling consumed by the reporting company.
Scope 3 – includes all other indirect emissions that occur in a company’s value chain.
